#6792 VASCULAR ACCESS SURVIVAL OUTCOME IN ELDERLY HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS: A SINGLE-CENTER RETROSPECTIVE STUDY

چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Elderly hemodialysis patients usually have lower life patency of vascular access than another age-group. Our center, elderly are the most population patients. Prior to initiate hemodialysis, planning first has been established by patients, nephrologist, surgeon. The canulation technique for arteriovenous fistula (AVFs) determined experienced hemodialysis-nurse patient preferences. aim this study was analyze survival outcome depending on type in elderly. Method collected retrospective data between Jan 1, 2013, December 31,2022. We identified (age ≥65) who in-center first-use our including fistulas, graft, tunnel-catheter. Outcomes were subgroup analysis non-extreme group extreme ≥80) group. A χ2 test, Kaplan-Meier performed. Results Overall number initiated 170: 63 AVFs-first (74% buttonhole cannulation technique), 21 grafts-first 86 tunnel-catheters. Mean accesses higher AVFs (78 months AVFs, 52.5 grafts, 53.3 tunnel-catheter P = 0.012). consistency age 65-80 (80.9 47.3 47.2 0.005). However, mean did not differ >80 (56.3 58.4 56.4 0.98). Conclusion In single center data, highest should be choice would especially

The natural history of vascular access for hemodialysis: a single center study of 2,422 patients.

BACKGROUND Our objective is to provide provision of primary and secondary patency rates data and incidence of complications. Despite the publication of some review articles and small prospective trials about vascular accesses, controversy still exists regarding the choice of the outflow conduit and especially the choice of the fistula to be formed in secondary and tertiary access procedures. ...

outcome of prosthetic thigh vascular access graft in hemodialysis patients: a prospectivesix year study

arteriovenous fistulae traditionally have been placed in the upper extremity. experience with groin hemodialysis access has been discouraging because of high infection rates and associated limb amputation. the aim of this study was to determine infection rates, patency rates, and possible predictive factors for prosthetic thigh angioaccess outcomes in our hemodialysis patient population. a pros...

Investigating the Effect of Longitudinal Biomarkers on Hemodialysis Elderly Survival: A Single Central Study

Objectives: Identifying the factors influencing the survival of hemodialysis patients using a two- stage survival model and longitudinal multivariate in order to provide the therapist with planning to better control elderly hemodialysis patients. Methods and Materials: The study was a historical cohort study of 395 patients over the age of 60 who underwent hemodialysis. Data were collected ove...

Vascular access and survival in hemodialysis patients in Rasht, Iran.

INTRODUCTION. Arteriovenous fistulas and grafts are two common permanent access methods for hemodialysis. Selection of an appropriate access, appropriate surgical techniques, and treatment of complications are basic principles of long-term maintenance of vascular access. We aimed to assess the survival of arteriovenous fistulas and grafts in our dialysis center. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total o...

Hyperhomocysteinemia and vascular access thrombosis in hemodialysis patients: a retrospective study

BACKGROUND Elevated total plasma homocysteine is an independent risk factor for arterial and venous thrombosis in patients with normal renal function. Patients on hemodialysis have a high prevalence of mild to moderate hyperhomocysteinemia. Conflicting retrospective analyses and prospective studies have been reported regarding the association between total homocysteine levels and hemodialysis v...
